Given that vast volumes of information are held and processed by Victorian government agencies, it is encouraging that the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection, David Watts, has now formally issued the Victorian Data Security Standards (VPDSS).
The GRC team at Sense of Security have been keeping up to date with these developments, and are prepared to assist Victorian government agencies with the important work of complying to the 18 mandatory requirements just released.
Victorian government agencies will be required to develop a Security Risk Profile Assessment (SRPA) and a Protective Data Security Plan (PDSP) for submission by July 2018.
The newly issued Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) and information on the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF), and other materials can be found online at the CPDP website, and there’s also a mobile app available too.
Sense of Security looks forward to continuing their important work with Victoria government agencies, on satisfying their obligations, and demonstrating leadership in establishing best practices for protecting public data.
